Internship Experience of Joeri Roijenga
Curious about the Internship Experience of Joeri Roijenga? Read below about Joeri’s thoughts.
1: How did you generally experience your internship at Convident?
It was an interesting and educational internship period. I, for example, worked on a variation of client projects, applied several programming languages and learned several new frameworks. That is how I obtained the knowledge of Laravel, Bue.JS and Angular, because of which I was able to keep my current knowledge level up to date. Further on, there were also a pleasant group of interns and there was also a lovely working environment amongst the employees. The door was always open and you were allowed to disturb anyone in case you needed help.
2: Were you well received by our colleagues?
The reception was really pleasant! The programmers were very obliging and also the project manager and the supervision made sure that every intern felt welcome.
3: Would you recommend future interns to do their internship at Convident?
If you are looking for diverse working activities, then I would definitely recommend Convident to future interns! They, for example, have internal applications and client projects on which you are allowed to participate, which makes you gain a lot of experience. Having some sort of basic level is recommended, such as knowledge surrounding PHP (and maybe also Laravel). In this way, you can immediately work along with the Laravel projects. If you do not know, however, it is not a disaster. Everyone is prepared to help you with adding to your knowledge, which of course is what an internship is meant for.
4: How would you rate your internship at Convident?
Personally, I would rate my internship to be an 8. Rating it at a 10 would be amazing of course, but there are always things to improve. And that is also relevant the other way around when Convident was rating me as an intern. When I look at the feedback I received from Convident, I find that I made a good impression and that I was able to work on several projects. The custom agenda module for internal applications we eventually realised, is also something I am certainly proud of. The users and developers who use this program hopefully get a lot of use out of it.
5: What are you remembering after your chapter at Convident?
The main point I will remember when starting my next internship or employment is certainly that I can trust my abilities. The V for ‘Vertrouwen’, which means trust, is something you immediately receive at Convident! They also reported to me I am a good developer and that I do not need to be afraid of making mistakes. I look forward to my future career as a developer!
